Safe Futures Family Service provides relationship-focused support, education and interventions for children, young people, parents and families. Services may include individual support, family interventions, relationship education, parenting support, professional consultation and programmes designed to improve family relationships and promote children’s wellbeing.

4. Referrals
Referrals may be accepted from:
● Individuals and families
● Solicitors
● Family Courts
● Social Workers
● Guardians ad Litem
● Health and Social Care Trusts
● Tusla – Child and Family Agency
● Schools and educational settings
● Other statutory and voluntary agencies
Acceptance of a referral does not constitute acceptance of instructions as an expert witness unless this has been specifically agreed in writing.

5. Child-Centred Practice
Safe Futures Family Service is committed to promoting the welfare, rights and best interests of children.
All interventions are child-focused and seek to support safe, healthy and sustainable family relationships wherever this is in the child’s best interests.

6. Confidentiality
Information shared during the course of support will normally be treated as confidential.
However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where there are concerns regarding:
● the safety or welfare of a child or vulnerable adult
● risk of serious harm to any person
● criminal activity
● disclosure required by law
● court orders or statutory obligations
Where appropriate and safe to do so, any necessary disclosure will be discussed with those involved.

7. Safeguarding
Safe Futures Family Service operates in accordance with safeguarding legislation, guidance and professional responsibilities in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Where there are concerns that a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk of harm, information may be shared with the relevant statutory authorities, including Health and Social Care Trusts, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), An Garda Síochána, Tusla – Child and Family Agency, or other appropriate agencies, in accordance with legal and professional obligations.

8. Court Proceedings
Safe Futures Family Service may provide support to families involved in both public and private family law proceedings.
Unless expressly agreed in writing:
● services are supportive, educational and therapeutic in nature
● no expert witness opinion is provided
● attendance at court is not included within standard service fees
● reports, summaries or letters are provided only where agreed in advance and may incur additional charges

9. Fees and Appointments
Fees will be agreed before services commence.
Payment terms, cancellation arrangements and any applicable charges will be confirmed at the time of booking or within a separate service agreement.
Appointments cancelled without sufficient notice may incur a cancellation fee.
